These two whiskys would make the perfect gift for any spirit drinker. First we have the Bruichladdich Laddie Classic and the Arran Malt Sauternes Cask. Laddie Classic - Bruichladdich are famous for their innovative whiskies. This dram has been designed to showcase the floral and elegant Bruichladdich style. It is matured purely in American oak bourbon casks which give the whisky a mellow oaky sweetness with hints of vanilla and flapjacks. There are also aromas of malted barley, soft fruit notes reminiscent of pears in syrup, papaya and honeydew melon. It is silky on the palate with the flavours mirroring the aromatics perfectly. Two great spirits are on tasting. We have the Bunnahabhain Islay whisky and the Angostura 1919 rum. A great gift idea for any spirit lover. Pop in and give them both a try. Bunnahabhain 18 year old - This is a great whisky for Islay. This is not what you usually expect from the region that mainly produces the rich peat smoke style whiskies. This whisky has a golden colour with honeyed nuts and a slightly sea-induced salty twang; reminiscent of the island. These aromas are followed by hints of rich toffee and leathery oak aromas. The palate is influenced by a nutty sherry flavour and shavings from the finest oak. The finish is dry with notes of mixed spice, sherry and a light saltiness. Angostura 1919 - This is a marvelous aged rum made from a blend of light and heavy molasses. The rums are aged for a minimum of 8 years in charred American oak bourbon barrels. It has a rich golden-amber hue with great clarity. There is a complex bouquet here exuding aromas of cocoa, molasses, caramel and vanilla. This rum is soft and silky without a hint of harshness or biting edge. When it opens up there is a generous and long-lasting arrray of toasted flavours. A superb warming and relaxing finish.
