Well, we hope you're all enjoying this beautiful British summer! Come rain or shine, we cannot more highly recommend a glass of chilled rose, and we've got some fantastic offers for you! Our REFRESHING ROSE promotion runs until the 28th of June, and we've got a huge selection in store, right now.
Rose; it's a delicate and refreshing drink on a warm sunny day, and great with barbeque food (whether al fresco, or perhaps huddled indoors whilst a light drizzle dampens the flames) - we've got a bottle to suit everyone's palate and pocket.
Our superstar buy is a perennial favourite, the Moments Minuty rose 2010, from the Cotes de Provence. A classic beauty with a soft pale pink hue, the Minuty rose is dry and elegant, with a subtle aroma of summer pudding and a lovely, gently herbal note. The price was £14.90, it's now £11.99, and as always you get a further 5% off the discount price when you buy a case of 12. Be warned - this is flying off the shelves so stock up while you can!
Our second recommendation is our Cotes de Provence AOC rose 2010. It's a rather delicious bargain at £7.50 (down from £8.50), light and dry and very easy drinking. Keep a bottle in the fridge for when friends pop over unexpectedly, this wine is lovely to drink on it's own or with most foods; try tapas or charcuterie, or summer salads.
Alternatively, if you fancy a change from the classic provencal roses, why not try our Saint Mont "En la Tradition" rose 2010 from the South West of France. A blend of local grape varieties are harvested at dawn, which retains the soft fruity flavours and fresh acidity of the wine. This rose goes nicely with pizza or tomatoey pasta dishes.
Although it's our rose promotion, I can't help but mention one of our bestselling wines of the moment - a cheeky little claret from our friends at Chateau Combray, 2010. It's a smooth, medium bodied Bordeaux blend. Enjoy with sausages or burgers or on cool summer nights.
